New ETERNAL DESCENT Album To be Produced By EDDIE KRAMER
November 7, 2008ETERNAL DESCENT, the up-and-coming industrial/metal/goth band from London, UK, has tapped legendary producer Eddie Kramer, famed for his work with artists such as JIMI HENDRIX, LED ZEPPELIN and KISS, to producte and engineer the group's second album.
Kramer stated, "I'm excited to be working with such great creative and energetic artists. ETERNAL DESCENT reminds me of 'The Garden of Earthly Delights'; particularly the sinners panel! The project is indeed a challenging one as it encompasses all of the skills both myself and the artists have learned. We will need to be at the top of our game to make it a reality. The scope of this recording appeals right to the core of my production and engineering skills."
Rob Sutherland, the ETERNAL DESCENT second guitarist who worked with Kramer on a previous project, remarked, "It's such an honour to be working with Eddie. His musical skill is of such a high level that it's just awesome to know that he will be guiding us through this behemoth of a recording."
As well as producing and mastering the album, Kramer will also be co-orchestrating the arrangement of orchestral parts, based on scores by ETERNAL DESCENT mastermind Llexi Leon.
"Eddie is not just a world-renowned producer and one of the craziest guys we know" said Leon, "He is also an extremely accomplished musician who studied classical piano, cello and violin at the prestigious South African college of Music. Since ETERNAL DESCENT is a melting pot of gothic, ambient metal with ubiquitous orchestral soundscapes, Eddie is the perfect guy to work with on these powerful moving sections."
The recording will take place in London, where the band is based, and in Los Angeles where they will have meetings with Eddie to work on various parts of the album.
To date, ETERNAL DESCENT has had two releases — an EP and a full-length CD. The "Phantom of the Opera" EP, released earlier this year, is a taste of things to come from the new ETERNAL DESCENT album and comic, slated for a 2009 release.
